Mohawk Girls Cross Country Camps
Camp Itinerary

Monday, Aug. 2nd:

  • 6:50 am.  Meet at the MCHS gym lobby / load bags, tents, bikes, etc.  Come with a sack lunch and dressed to run (runners bring your wrist watch with a stop watch function).
  • 7:10   Depart for Decorah.
  • 9:00   Arrive at Luther College (Decorah).
  • 9:15  Run the Luther College Invitational Course (once @ 60%, then @ 100% = 5 miles).
  • 10:45  Continue on to Preston, Minnesota.
  • 12:00  Arrive @ Old Barn Resort.  Eat our sack lunches.
  • 12:30  Receive tent assignments and set up tents and camp (team building – all team members are required to help out).
  • 1:30  Free time to swim or bike.
  • 3:30  Game time:  Volleyball, croquet, bean bag, or board games .
  • 5:30   Hamburgers, brats, or hot dogs, salads at campsite, followed by free time.
  • 7:15   Team Captain’s meeting (entire team required to attend).
  • 9:00   Night Games.
  • 10:15   Campfire with S’mores at campsite.
  • 11:00   Quiet tent time, followed by lights out / sleep.

Tuesday, Aug. 3rd.

  • 8:30   Wake-up time.
  • 8:45   Workout (2 X one mile timed, followed by 2 miles easy, 6X60 barefoot sprints ).
  • 10:00  Breakfast.
  • 10:15  Team swim.
  • 10:45   Free Time, but be ready for a float down the river on tubes.
  • 11:45   Load up / travel to Lanesborough for lunch on the balcony.
  • 1:30   Team Float down the Root River.
  • 4:30  Return to camp, free time.
  • 5:45   Load up for Pizza and ice cream in Fountain, Minn.
  • 7:00  Back to camp and free time.
  • 9:00   Captain’s team building time (activity to be announced).
  • 10:00   Campfire and s’mores at campsite.
  • 11:00   Quiet time in tent followed by lights out and sleep.


Wednesday, August 4th.

  • 8:35  Wake up / prepare to run.
  • 8:50   Triathlon (4K run, 8 mile bike, 6 lengths of pool).  Top five receive medals. 
  • 10:50   Coach D.’s Team Meeting (all team members required to attend).
  • 12:00  On your own for lunch (Lanesborough or Preston).  If biking to town, there must be three people.  Lunch is followed by free time.
  • 2:00   Load up and travel to Miniature golf.
  • 3:30  Back to camp for free time.
  • 5:30  Eat at Old Barn Resort, followed by free time.
  • 8:00   Team’s chooses activity.   
  • 10:15   Campfire and S’mores.
  • 11:00  Tent time followed by lights out and sleep.


Thursday, August 5th.

  • 8:30   Wake up / prepare to run.
  • 8:45   50 min. run.  Go out 30 min., turn around and return faster in 25 minutes.
  • 9:50   Team swim.
  • 10:20   Break camp (team building – everyone helps), clean up, load up and leave (parents who help drive should meet at this time).
  • 12:30   Stop in Cresco, Iowa, to eat at Hardees or Subway (individual cars can decide if they stop and where).
  • 2:30  (Approximately), Arrive back at MCHS.  Runners who need rides will be taken home.
