Mohawk Girls Cross Country Camps Head Coach Steve DeFrance
Head Coach Steve DeFrance has coached track for 26 years and cross country for 17 years. This is his 13th year as the Mohawk Head Coach. Six of those teams qualified to run at the State Meet in Fort Dodge, including the 2008 and 2009 teams.
Before coming to Mason City High School, DeFrance started the middle school program at John Adams and Roosevelt Middle School where he coached for four years. During two years of that time, the middle school boys and girls both won 9 of their 10 meets.
As a student, Coach DeFrance ran cross country and track in his four years of high school and in college at Iowa State University for two years before becoming a team manager after an injury.
